Inform_DE Readme ================ Since Tinic Urou first translated the Inform Library into German 1996, Inform has quite seen some changes. Based on Tinic's version, both Toni Arnold and Ralf Herrmann published German libraries. Both were well done, although not without flaws. 1999, I started to write the adventure "Starrider" which eventually turned out to be the first "big" adventure written in Inform in German language. I used Toni's translation, but modified (and corrected) it to fit my needs. Later, I took parts out of Ralf's version, included them into my library and thus ended up with a mixture of Toni and Ralf. The library I was using, was published 2001 in the "German Inform Jump Start Kit", an attempt to make Inform more accessible to beginning authors. The German IF community was steadielly growing and we have now attempted to build an "official version" of the German library, based on the Starrider library. The official site of the library is http://www.textfire.de/archiv/ There are (will be) to versions of the library: The stable release will be tested and usable for everyone, while the testing realease is mainly geared for authors and translators, to test the latest bugfixes and translated messenges. Have fun with the "official" German release. Max Kalus.
